ATF Resumes its Newsletters

Following a record-setting year in which 21 million background checks for firearm sales were conducted and an estimated 8.4 million people purchased their first gun, the ATF has resumed their annual Federal Firearm Licensee (FFL) and Explosives Industry Newsletters.

Started more than two decades ago, the last newsletters were published in October and December 2019, respectively, before the pandemic and ensuing rush on guns and ammunition. The latest edition, “ATF FFL Newsletter – June 2021,” was published last week and covers a variety of topics to keep FFLs abreast of changing Federal firearms laws and regulations.

Topics covered include:

  • Straw Purchases
  • Changes to ATF Form 4473
  • Medical Marijuana/CBD Products
  • Variance Requests
  • SOT Requirements
