Recently, the hosts of the 2021 FICC, Orchid and Williams Mullen, announced that registration was opened for the conference. New to this year’s event will be the focus on firearm manufacturing and the addition of Legal / Business Strategy and Manufacturing FFL technology tracks. One of the sessions in this year’s spotlight is a deep dive discussion on PLCAA – the Protection in Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. Enacted in 2005, the law granted protection to licensed firearm manufacturers and dealers when laws were broken by third parties with their products. It is a very important law for firearm business owners, operators and General Counsel to understand. At 4pm on June 8, Camden Webb, leader of Williams Mullen’s Firearm Industry Group, will lead a session designed to unravel how PLCAA can be used to protect (or potentially hurt) a firearm licensee. If you’re an FFL owner, operator or firearms industry attorney, you won’t want to miss out. Attorneys, please note that we are currently evaluating CLE for the event.
