Since its inception in 2014, the Firearms Industry Conference (FIC) has sought to educate firearms industry professionals on critical, timely and relevant topics impacting FFLs and their operation. With more than 1,500 attendees trained, co-hosts Orchid and Williams Mullen’s Firearms Industry Group are excited to deliver a new comprehensive agenda for FIC 2022.

Prior to the main conference, attendees can participate in an afternoon of in-depth and interactive FIC Workshops (April 25), comprised of three educational sessions led by firearms industry experts. Held simultaneously, each workshop lasts three hours and is associated with one of the conference’s three learning tracks: Firearm Industry Law & Finance, FFL Compliance, and FFL Technology.

Responsibilities of an FFL ‘Responsible Person’: Soup-to-Nuts
To better educate firearms industry members about all aspects of an FFL “Responsible Person,” this session will include discussion of who can be a Responsible Person, best practices for selecting a Responsible Person, identifying associated professional and personal risk, and how to avoid potential pitfalls.

Firearm and Ammunition U.S. Export Mechanics
Designed to fill the knowledge gaps relating to U.S. export control and compliance, this session will include discussion of the roles and relationship between U.S. agencies and the firearms industry, U.S. export-controlled information and access by Foreign Nationals, and a walkthrough of agency portals, DECCS and SNAP-R.

Managing Firearm Inventory with Modern POS, ERP & Ecommerce Platforms
To showcase the benefits of implementing modern software applications and data controls, this session will include discussion of how using technology to manage master part/SKU/UPC data, integrate supplier catalogs, connect in-store inventory to ecommerce and reconcile on-hand inventory can drive sales and success for FFLs.
