DDTC Policy Change on Exporting Suppressor DDTC Suppressor Policy Rollback On Friday, July 10th the U.S. Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) rescinded a long standing policy (dated back to April 2002) regarding exports of suppressors for official Government and Law Enforcement end use only.  DDTC published a policy update (effective immediately) and will now consider exports of suppressors for commercial hunting and sporting end use.    The posted notice can be viewed here:  https://www.pmddtc.state.gov/ddtc_public?id=ddtc_public_portal_news_and_events The policy change gives U.S. Manufacturers, Distributors and Exporters the ability to compete in foreign markets that commonly use suppressors for hunting and sporting purposes.  This opens the doors to new international opportunities, has potential to generate millions in revenue for U.S. industry, drive growth, and create jobs.  The global community desires American made firearms and ammunition, and finally they will have access to innovative and quality U.S. suppressors.
