Orchid is proud to announce a new customer, Civilian Marksmanship Program.

First created by Congress as part of the 1903 War Department Appropriations Act, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is a government-chartered 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to training and educating U.S. citizens, with an emphasis on youth, in firearm safety, marksmanship training, and competitions. The CMP is also authorized to sell surplus .22 and .30 caliber military rifles, parts and ammunition for marksmanship through a network of affiliated private organizations, shooting clubs, and state associations. Such popular firearms include the M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M1911 pistol, and commercial rimfire target rifles.

Operating three retail locations in Ohio and Alabama and distributing thousands of guns each year, the Civilian Marksmanship Program sought the experience and expertise of Orchid to maintain compliance. Working with attorney and VP of Regulatory Services, Philip Milks, Orchid performed a thorough mock ATF inspection of a CMP facility and continues to provide ongoing education and compliance services for the corporation as needed.
