Orchid LLC has been in operation for 10 years, providing retail and manufacturing software, payment processing, and professional services to the firearms industry. Our mission is to assist federally licensed businesses in complying with federal and state regulations while driving their financial growth. Our applications integrate with federal databases and our legal and professional services team work closely with FFLs, industry trade associations, ATF, Department of Commerce, and the Department of State.

Our team is located across the U.S. and in two international countries, though the majority of our resources are located in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Our business headquarters is in West Hartford, Connecticut.

Position Overview

Compensation and Benefits

  • Total target compensation: $42,500
  • Base compensation: $37,500
  • Bonus eligibility after year one: $5,000

Most Important Traits

  • Driven and self-motivated
  • Confident, trustworthy, and able to inspire confidence in our clients
  • Very strong understanding of technology concepts, ideally cloud
  • Prior experience desired in the firearms industry or software
  • Very strong attention to assurance and detail
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and succinctly

Position Responsibilities

Software Testing, Technical Manuals and Training

  • Execute test plans written by VP of Technology
  • Update team on results of testing and update product management logs as needed
  • Update online product manuals as new software is released
  • Assist implementation team, when needed, with software go-lives
  • Assist implementation team with software training

Software Technical Support

  • Provide technical support for Orchid software, including Orchid POS, eCommerce, and eBound
  • Provide proactive support by contacting existing customers to understand their satisfaction and to offer assistance
  • Act as first responder to customer inquiries regarding technical issues
  • Update tickets in technical support portal
  • Attempt to recreate or problem solve reported issue
  • When unsolvable, write concise summary of issue for VP of Technology
  • Update customers on status of their issues
