Senior Software Implementation

The Senior Software Implementation Consultant is responsible for planning and implementing cloud-based applications for gun stores, distributors, and manufacturing FFLs. This position reports to the Manager of Technology.

Position Overview

Compensation and Benefits

  • Job Type: Full time
  • Location: Remote, 10–15% annual travel, no relocation assistance provided
  • Base Salary: $65,000–80,000
  • Bonus Structure: Incentive compensation tied to Account Management (available after 90 days)
  • PTO/PST: 3 weeks of PTO + holidays
  • Retirement Program: Eligible per benefits program after 6 months of employment. Orchid will 100% match up to the first 6% of employee contribution.
  • Other: Company computer provided, up to $30/mo phone service expense

    Position Responsibilities

    Assisting with Department-level Coordination

    Under the direction of the Technology Manager, the Senior Software Implementation Consultant will assist in broader department-level coordination. Such tasks include:

    • Understanding customer desired go-live dates
    • Determining the ‘most likely’ go-live time in light of the broader schedule
    • Adding implementation activities to the company project planning software.

    Managing Own Implementations

    The Senior Software Implementation Consultant will be responsible for managing their own own implementations from planning through go-live. Such tasks include:

    • Determining the type of implementation (remote, on-site, hybrid)
    • Coordinating with Orchid’s regulatory and legal functions for needed support
    • Understand the customer’s unique needs including regulatory requirements
    • Documenting and creating a plan for the conversion of regulated and non-regulated data
    • Coordinating initial catalog loads, distributor integrations, and third-party integrations
    • Assessing hardware needs and working with the client to acquire such hardware
    • Facilitating the submission of merchant services application
    • Facilitating the purchase and setup of credit card swipe devices
    • Understanding their broader ecommerce needs and soliciting the initial design intent

    Implementation Execution

    • Configure the software application(s)
    • Analyze and cleanse, where permissible and load customer related data
    • Implement part master, customer master and vendor master data
    • Schedule and deliver software and business process training
    • Performing test transactions to ensure that applications are working properly
    • Train users on the use of Orchid’s software applications, hardware, and new business processes
    • Provide go-live and post-go-live assistance. Resolve any issues in a timely manner; identify urgent situations and ensure a proper escalation process

    Account Management

    • Maintaining contact with the client and serving as their advocate for future growth
    • Educate customers on the Orchid white-glove support and live, online support portal
    • Fielding technical or business questions submitted through the portal

    The Senior FFL Software Implementation Consultant will receive incentive compensation during or after implementation upgrades for service delivery hours and add-on applications.

    Job Qualifications

    • 7 –10+ years of experience
    • Firearms/shooting sports industry experience preferred
    • Strong organizational skills with deep attention to detail
    • Very strong written skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to maintain control of critical and difficult customer situations

    Technical/Software Qualifications

    • Intermediate or higher experience with Excel. The candidate must be comfortable working with large data sets.
