If not done, getting your company’s SNAP-R account access back will require working with the U.S. government. This includes following specific steps, providing certain documents, and waiting several days or even weeks for them to respond. 

Our experts, Jason and Tim, suggest treating your SNAP-R account like a valuable company asset. We recommend having at least two account administrators. One of them could be your outside export compliance expert who helps with U.S. export matters. SNAP-R administrators can add or remove users, reactivate accounts, and send password resets. It’s like giving a spare key to someone you trust — it makes access easier without needing to call a locksmith. 

Everyone with a company SNAP-R account needs to complete the account migration process by the end of June if they want to keep using the system. It’s not hard — just use the account migration link on the new portal’s website before the deadline. 

The new portal can be found at: https://snapr.bis.gov/. If you’re like us, you may still have the old site bookmarked. You can still get to the new site from the old one by clicking the link in the yellow banner at the top of the page. 

We suggest you do this soon in case your account needs to be reactivated or your password reset. The Department of Commerce has not yet published how the process will work after June, but right now it’s slow and requires effort to submit the needed info to BIS.
