HARTFORD, CT (March 15, 2022) – Orchid and Williams Mullen’s Firearms Industry Group announce a portion of proceeds from 2022 Firearms Industry Conference (FIC) attendee registrations and sponsorships will be donated to Project ChildSafe. Developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), Project ChildSafe is dedicated to promoting responsible firearm handling and secure storage by distributing safety education messages and free firearm safety kits in all 50 states and in U.S. territories.

“FIC and the NSSF share a common mission of educating and enhancing the shooting sports community,” said Orchid CEO, Jon Rydberg. “As firearms industry professionals, we are all responsible for firearm safety. Partnering with Project ChildSafe to support their initiatives was an obvious decision for Orchid and Williams Mullen and we’re proud to participate in the cooperative effort of promoting safe firearm handling and storage through the donation of proceeds from conference registrations and sponsorships.”

In addition to donating proceeds from the event, NSSF Director of Member Development, Zach Snow, will share industry research and discuss Project ChildSafe and other NSSF programs during a lunch keynote at FIC 2022.

“We’re pleased to continue our support of the Firearms Industry Conference and grateful for the contributions made by conference attendees and sponsors to Project ChildSafe,” said Joe Bartozzi, chairman of Project ChildSafe Foundation and president and CEO of NSSF. “A price can’t be placed on the importance of firearm safety, and we welcome all the support we can get in our efforts to reduce firearm accidents, thefts and misuse.”

Held April 21–27, FIC 2022 features virtual and in-person educational sessions led by federal agency executives, firearms industry professionals and subject matter experts. Sessions are broken intro three comprehensive learning tracks: Firearms Law & Finance, FFL Compliance, and FFL Technology. FIC On-Air™ will be held online April 21–22, followed by FIC Workshops on April 25 and the main FIC event April 26–27 in Atlanta.
