Reminder for California FFLs!
Pursuant to California Assembly Bill 1078, beginning April 1, 2026 FFLs are limited to transferring three firearms to a purchaser in any given 30 day period. Additionally, the postings required on premises have been modified to account for this new limitation. Given the results of Nguyen v. Bonta we expect this to be challenged and eventually overturned but for the time being this law will limit firearm purchases in California.
FFLs can be proactive and anticipate changes such as this by using Orchid eState™ which contains a list of legislation nationwide that has been curated to reflect what may impact your firearms business. Be ahead of the curve of new restrictions or new sales opportunities. Orchid eState™ also contains restriction modules to identify what products are prohibited in States nationwide (e.g., “assault weapons”) and identifies any shipping, transferring, and age restrictions for ammunition; crucial for companies selling ammunition online to consumers in other States.
