“Protiviti’s Jim DeLoach Named to 2012 NACD Directorship 100

Author and thought leader joins leading directors and governance experts to be recognized in NYC on Nov. 27. This annual list recognizes people who significantly influence leading practices in corporate board performance and oversight, including directors, corporate governance experts, journalists, regulators, academics and counselors.

Through his countless thought leadership contributions, his authorship of Protiviti’s Board Perspectives: Risk Oversight series, and his involvement in such projects as the COSO board risk oversight survey, Jim has great influence on the boardroom community, our clients and our firm, ” said Joseph Tarantino, president and chief executive officer of Protiviti. “Jim’s insights, advice and expertise have truly helped to shape the greater boardroom agenda. We are pleased the NACD chose to recognize him as a standard of the highest principles of corporate governance and as a top influencer in the boardroom.

With more than 35 years of professional experience, DeLoach helps companies integrate risk management with strategy-setting and performance management. A prolific writer, DeLoach heads the firm’s thought leadership strategy and has personally authored more than 180 articles for Protiviti publications since the firm’s founding in 2002, including its Early Mover series, Flash Reports, The Bulletin, and the Board Perspective: Risk Oversight series. He has also written two books and published more than 50 external articles in the past 15 years. His book, Enterprise-wide Risk Management: Strategies for linking risk and opportunity, published by Financial Times in June 2000, was the first book written on the subject of enterprise risk management. DeLoach is a member of Protiviti’s Executive Council and is based in the firm’s Houston office.

The NACD Directorship 100 honorees represent the most influential leaders who set the right tone in the boardroom, enabling sustainable growth and innovation around the globe,” said Ken Daly, president and CEO of NACD. “These stewards of exemplary board leadership serve as role models for others, and it is important for NACD to recognize their contributions in the boardroom and to corporate governance.

NACD Directorship 100 honorees are selected by a group that includes the previous year’s honorees, an advisory panel of judges, and NACD Directorship readers and staff. This year’s honorees will be recognized during a gala dinner at the sixth annual NACD Directorship 100 Forum on Nov. 27, in New York City. The full list of the 2012 NACD Directorship 100 honorees can be found at www.NACDonline.org/2012-D100-Honorees.”
